Tournament Format & Age Groups:

- Skill Level/Age Group Tournament. Ages 12-90, Skill Levels 2.5-5.0. Player’s age as of: 12/31/17

 - Round Robin:
A round robin format will be used for age/skill level divisions with  fewer than 8 teams. Each team will play each other once.  Play will be to 21, win by one for groups of 4 teams.  For groups of 5 to 7 teams, play will be to 15, win by one. Final rankings are determined by games won against all other teams in the round robin group followed by total points scored against all other teams in the round robin group, if there is a tie on games.  After that, ties are broken by the head to head record of the teams involved.  A group may be a combination of different age brackets within the same skill level.

 - Pool Play/Single Elimination
This format will be used for groups of 8 or more teams in an age/skill group.  With pool play, the field is divided into a number of separate pools for round robin play.  Pools are balanced so that there is a mix of ability levels in each pool.  The number of pools is based on the number of teams in the group.  A group may be a combination of different age brackets within the same skill level. There may be only two pools or as many as needed to create pools of 4 or more teams. Each pool plays a round robin tournament.  Play will be to 21, win by one for pools of 4 teams.  For pools of 5 or more teams, play will be to 15, win by one. Final rankings are determined by games won against all other teams in the pool followed by total points scored against all other teams in the pool if there is a tie on games.  After that, ties are broken by the head to head record of the teams involved. Following the pool play, the top two teams in each pool are seeded into a single elimination championship round based on the pool play results,  followed by a single elimination bronze medal round to determine the third and fourth place finishers. Play in the championship and bronze medal rounds will be to 15.
